- Milla Jovovich Reflects on Her Place in the World After Turning 50: 'It's a Lot to Take On' (People)
- "I'm still figuring it out, to be honest," Jovovich tells People about her milestone birthday, while discussing her new action movie Protector. "It's definitely been a lot of changes for me as a woman. Perimenopause for one, mood swings — doing a movie like Protector didn't help because it was really challenging for me physically and then a lot of distraction editing it and scoring it and being such a integral part to how it was edited and focusing on it."

03.04.26 - Exclusive Protector clips from JoBLo. Protector is in theaters March 6!
Additional Protector press:
- Interview with Milla from People
- On producing: "I think as an actor so many times it's really frustrating because you get to do one single aspect and then once you're wrapped with that film, you never know what's going to happen. But to be able to really take such a lead in post-production was amazing for me. I loved it. I loved being able to go through and edit, to really find the parts of my performance that I loved."
- Interview with Milla & Isabel Myers from FandomWire
- Q: I think it’s fair to say that Protector has more of a dramatic or psychological angle than your typical action movie. How did this aspect of the story excite you as performers?
Milla: For me, when I read the original script, the seeds were there. But that’s what really made me want to become a producer on the project — to be able to take more control of the script, to make the story more simple, more concise, and to really focus on the heart of it.
To make it, yes, an action-packed revenge movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat, but at the same time, the ending takes you somewhere completely different than what you expected at the beginning. It’s not just about the action, it’s not just about killing the bad guy; it leaves you asking a lot of questions, and I think that’s amazing. I love movies like that.
And also to be able to highlight human trafficking. I think that’s something that films and Hollywood in general just kind of shy away from because it’s such a hard subject to take on and especially respectfully. From the point of view of a mom myself, we tried as best we could to do it in a respectful way but also to remind people that this is a real problem and this is happening in our country every single day.
